DOYLESTOWN, PA – August 2021 – On August 31, this year, long-time Publisher of Contact Lens Spectrum, Roger Zimmer, will be retiring as an active operator with PentaVision. Over a long career in vision care publishing, Roger has made an indelible and positive impact on the industry. Beginning with Viscom in 1990, Roger has been the guiding hand in the success of Contact Lens Spectrum and has played an instrumental role in building the Global Specialty Lens Symposium into the world's most important contact lens event. Over the years whether as both an editorial and business leader on Contact Lens Spectrum, with E-media at PentaVision, with Optometric Management, or with the Optometric Management Symposium, Roger has also contributed singularly to the development of some of PentaVision’s most impactful and important information resources for optometry.
Roger's experience, know-how and insight will be missed on a daily basis by all who knew and worked with him in optometry and at PentaVision. Still, he will continue to be present with more than a casual interest in PentaVision, since Roger will remain part of the ownership group at PentaVision and a member of the company's Board of Directors. His voice will continue to be a strong and influential advocate for product quality and editorial excellence.
Concurrently, we are pleased to announce that Michael O’Rourke has joined PentaVision on August 23 as Director of Sales, Optometry. Michael will report into Mark Durrick who will now have responsibility for Eyecare Business, Optometric Management and the Optometric Management Symposium, plus added responsibilities on Contact Lens Spectrum, Global Specialty Lens Symposium and with the upcoming Global Myopia Symposium. Michael is a veteran and career B2B publishing professional including Publisher duties with Chemical Engineering and more recently with the Lehigh Valley Business Journal. Michael began his publishing career with Reed Elsevier.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions and be assured that the company is dedicated to maintaining the legacy in optometry that Roger has been so instrumental in creating.
